Short bio:

Andrea Brunais is communications manager for Outreach and International Affairs at Virginia Tech. A former Knight-Ridder executive, she was Editorial Page Editor of the Tallahassee Democrat during the ‘90s and from 2002 to 2006 was public information officer for the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. She was also a member of the editorial board and columnist for The Tampa Tribune, a Media General newspaper. Her work as a journalist won her first-place awards from the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association, the Florida Press Club, Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Florida Medical Association, as well as a Robert Kennedy Journalism Award for investigative reporting. She is the co-author of a book on media relations, I See Your Name Everywhere!
